Alchemy has announced the launch of an integration of its AgentCard platform with Visa Intelligent Commerce. The new solution gives developers tools to build AI agents capable of independently making online payments and interacting with digital services on behalf of users.
Thanks to AgentCard, agents built on models from OpenAI, Anthropic or other providers can book travel, order goods, pay for subscriptions and carry out other commercial operations without the user having to place orders manually, the announcement states.
According to the company, setup takes less than a minute. After that, the agent automatically receives a full set of digital identity: a tokenized Visa card, a cryptocurrency wallet, a separate email address and a phone number.
Alchemy noted that AgentCard became the first comprehensive solution for digital identity and payments to be integrated with Visa Intelligent Commerce — Visa's platform aimed at developing secure agentic commerce.
The system supports tokenized Visa payments while preserving credit limits, rewards programs and bank card benefits. At the same time, users have access to a cryptocurrency wallet, and payment routing automatically selects the most suitable payment method — from traditional card transactions to crypto protocols, if the merchant supports them.
In addition, AgentCard allows setting spending limits, restrictions by merchant category and other payment control rules, which can be changed in real time.
"As AI agents play an increasingly active role in commerce, they need to have a verified digital identity and easy ways to make payments," said Tanner Rich, Visa's Vice President of Product and Partnership Development.
A complete digital identity for AI agents
Beyond the payment infrastructure, each agent receives its own email address on the agentcard.email domain and a separate phone number. This allows agents to register with online services, pass verifications and operate as full-fledged digital users.
The company emphasized that the platform was built with the future development of agentic payment protocols in mind. If new standards are not yet supported by a merchant, AgentCard automatically uses single-use payment tokens, and once new mechanisms appear, routing will be updated without additional intervention from developers.
"The hardest part of launching an AI agent today is not its intelligence, but preparing it to operate in the real world. AgentCard reduces the entire setup process to a single step," said Floor Ronsmans De Vry, co-developer of AgentCard.
As a reminder, we previously reported that Alchemy Pay would launch its own blockchain and stablecoin.
