On Wednesday, February 6, the Binance Coin (BNB) token rose in price by more than 15% and burst into the top ten of the cryptocurrency ranking, pushing Bitcoin SV out of it. Binance Coin gained in price and capitalization, despite the fact that the cryptocurrency market lost more than $2 billion over the past few hours, A day ago BNB was trading around $7, but on Wednesday morning its weighted average rate rose to $8.17, and its capitalization grew to $1.154 billion. A little earlier the BNB rate had risen to $8.26, which was the highest figure since November of last year.
This happened against the backdrop of a new announcement from Binance, in which the exchange announced a new token sale on its Launchpad platform. This concerns the Fetch.ai (FET) project, which «combines machine learning, artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems and distributed ledger technology to create a cost-effective internet».
As stated in Binance's research report, last year the Fetch.ai project held a private token sale, as a result of which it raised almost $1 million and 24,596.5 ETH. The date of the FET token sale on Binance Launchpad has not yet been announced.
Also, the exchange's CEO Changpeng Zhao reported on Wednesday morning about the release of a new version of the Binance Chain test network with support for the Ledger hardware wallet. It is worth noting that at the end of January Changpeng Zhao reported that the upcoming Binance DEX decentralized exchange would support hardware wallets from the very first day of operation.
As for token sales on Binance Launchpad, the last project to come onto the platform was the BitTorrent token. The token sale took place on January 28, and as a result 59.4 billion BTT tokens were bought up for $7.2 million. By yesterday BTT was trading almost ten times higher than the token sale price, however, as a result of the correction that followed, its price has fallen by more than 18% over the past day.
