The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) added Bybit Fintech Limited and the Bybit platform to its investor alert list on June 17, 2026. It is now officially noted that the world's second-largest crypto exchange by trading volume holds no MAS license and is not regulated to provide services to users in Singapore.
MAS issued the warning amid growing interest in cryptocurrencies in the Asian financial hub. The measure is intended to protect retail investors so that they do not mistake the platform for a fully regulated one.
What the MAS investor alert list means
The alert list flags companies that "may be, or may be perceived as being, licensed or authorized" by MAS.
This list is a public information tool, not a ban, not a restraining measure, and not a declaration of fraud.
Bybit found itself in the company of platforms such as Binance (added in 2021).
MAS notes that the list "is not exhaustive" and is compiled based on information current as of the date of publication. In Bybit's case, the exchange's main website is listed.

Bybit's status on the global market and Singapore's conditions
Bybit, founded by Singaporean Ben Zhou, is among the largest exchanges by daily turnover, measured in billions of dollars.
The company operates in Dubai and other countries, and its user agreement explicitly states a ban for Singapore clients.
Singapore has a strict licensing regime for digital payment token services, set out in the Payment Services Act.
Without a license, a service may not offer its services to residents of the country; otherwise a regulator's response is possible.
Bybit already blocks IP addresses from Singapore, but the MAS warning concerns the remaining risks of the platform's accessibility and perception.
Impact on users and the market environment
For traders from Singapore everything is transparent: MAS recommends checking companies' licenses in the official register of financial institutions.
