How the digital ruble works in practice

The chairman of the State Duma committee on the financial market, Anatoly Aksakov, became one of the first users of the digital ruble in our country. The deputy described in detail how the new form of currency works in practice.
According to him, for an ordinary buyer the process is completely identical to the usual payment by bank card. However, the main technological difference lies inside the financial infrastructure itself.

How the payment process works
To carry out transactions, the deputy opened a special account in the Bank of Russia system. He immediately linked his personal mobile phone number to the account.
The transfer of funds begins in the standard app of a commercial bank where the specific client is already served. After pressing the digital ruble button, the system automatically redirects the user to the regulator's platform.
Then the person selects the desired recipient and instantly sends the money. The procedure, according to the legislator, is technically no different from an ordinary payment at a restaurant. Aksakov himself has already successfully paid with the new currency at an establishment that opened a digital account in advance. Commercial organizations work according to exactly the same scheme. Firms can freely accept funds, make transfers, and pay for the necessary services.
