PsiQuantum, a developer of photonic quantum computers, has begun construction of a facility in the Australian state of Queensland. There the company plans to house a fault-tolerant, industrial-scale quantum computer.
First, PsiQuantum will prepare the infrastructure for a large cryogenic installation by Linde Engineering. The company then expects to launch cryogenic cabinets with photonic chips connected by standard optical fiber. This approach should make it possible to scale the system to a modular architecture suitable for fault-tolerant computing.
