The BitTorrent token will most likely not be launched on the Tron platform. Former Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of BitTorrent Simon Morris stated that the Tron network (TRX) is unlikely to be able to handle BitTorrent's high transaction speed.
Notably, Morris's comments came less than two weeks after Tron announced the launch of the BitTorrent Token (BTT) on Binance Launchpad. In an interview, Morris stated that the BitTorrent network would likely use a different platform to issue its new tokens: I suspect that in reality they are going to do it on some central server, wave their hands and say, "Oh, this is the Lightning network for TRON" or something like that, and pretend that it is the main TRON network, but that is far from the case.
Morris clarified that the new BitTorrent tokens must launch on a platform that can handle hundreds of transactions per second (TPS). According to Morris, Tron founder Justin Sun and the Tron development team lied about the ability of the questionable cryptocurrency network to process transactions quickly. Morris believes that if BitTorrent really used the Tron blockchain, the peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing network "would literally destroy it."
Morris also noted that the tokenization of BitTorrent would help improve the overall efficiency of the P2P file-sharing platform, however the Tron network may not be suitable for launching the BitTorrent token. Morris mentioned that Sun and his company's employees are quite experienced in sales and marketing. But the Tron team, including the founder, did not know about the technical requirements for developing the BitTorrent cryptocurrency. Morris remarked: TRON is a marketing machine layered on a very thin veneer of technology.
