TrueUSD (TUSD) is a cryptocurrency that is a stablecoin, or so-called Stable Coin, which runs on the ERC20 protocol based on Ethereum. TUSD is pegged to the US dollar and aims for a 1-to-1 ratio with the US dollar. The TrueUSD cryptocurrency is one of the developments of the TrustToken team. The TrustToken team is betting that TrueUSD will be the first of many tokens on the Ethereum platform founded and backed by real fiat assets. TrueUSD is fully backed by the US dollar, legally protected, and transparently audited by third-party attestors.
The principle of issuing TrueUSD is that an interested investor undergoes an initial identity verification and an anti-money-laundering check. After the checks are successfully completed, the investor deposits the required amount of funds in fiat currency into a special bank account, and in return newly created TUSD coins in the amount of their deposit appear in their TrueUSD wallet.
Since the TrueUSD cryptocurrency strives to be a Stable Coin, there is no point in investing in this cryptocurrency for the purpose of making a profit from the cryptocurrency's growth, although at the time of writing this review TrueUSD is in 26th place in the cryptocurrency ranking.
