Top crypto news of the morning of June 19
Canadian bitcoin miner HIVE Digital Technologies signed a three-year contract worth $220 million through its AI division BUZZ HPC.
The company will deploy 2,304 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs in a Bell Canada data center for AI startup Cohere. After launch, the project will generate about $70 million in annual revenue, bringing high-performance computing income to more than $100 million. HIVE shares rose about 9% on the news.
The deal continues HIVE's active expansion into AI infrastructure. At the same time, the company's bitcoin holdings shrank from 481 to 150 BTC. The trend is typical of the entire industry: amid record-low mining profitability and a 10% drop in network difficulty, operators are massively reorienting their capacity toward AI.
